FAQs

  • Do I need to buy tickets for the Rijksmuseum separately?
Yes. Museum entry tickets are not included in the tour price. Children under 18 enter for free, but you still need to reserve a free timed-entry ticket for them on the Rijksmuseum website. Click here Parents do not need to buy a tour ticket unless they want to be active participants and join the drawing.
  • What's the difference between a regular tour ticket and a family tour ticket?
    – A regular ticket is just for the child – they join the tour and do all the drawing fun while the parent watches (if they’re around). – A family tour ticket is for families who want to join in together – kids and parents all draw, laugh, and create magical things side by side!
  • Are there any discounts or coupons available?
Yes! Here are two magical ways to save: ✨ 10% off when booking more than one ticket – use coupon code: MAGICAL10 ✨ 15% off for a private family tour (up to 6 participants) – use code: FAMILY15 Just make sure to select all 6 spots in the order form to receive the discount for your private family tour!
  • What will we do (and draw) during the magical tour?
A fun 2-hour tour where kids draw 3 magical creatures – a unicorn, a sea monster, and a blue Chinese dragon – each one inspired by real paintings and objects in the museum! Along the way, we’ll learn cool drawing techniques like grid drawing, how to draw facial expressions, and more – all in a playful and creative way. We’ll visit an enchanted library and go on a quest to find 6 hidden unicorns throughout the galleries. By the end, each child will take home all their drawings in a special folder – with a magical surprise inside!
  • Does a parent have to stay during the tour?
You’ve got two options: Parent stays outside the museum – that’s totally fine, just keep in mind the tour lasts about two hours. Parent comes inside the museum – in that case, you’ll need to buy an adult museum ticket (25 euros, directly from the Rijksmuseum website) Once inside, you can: – Join the tour and follow your child along, or – Leave your child with me (they’ll be in good hands!) and enjoy the museum on your own.
  • What happens if we’re late or can’t come?
You can arrive at the tour 15 minutes before the start time. Sometimes there’s a short line at the entrance. I’ll be waiting for you in the reception area. We always begin with a short welcome and conversation before we start the tour. If you need to reschedule, feel free to contact me directly at +31 06 15310449. However, they should enjoy drawing or feel connected to magical creatures and stories. We focus on creativity and imagination, and guide them step-by-step through a fun, inspiring art experience.
  • What age is the tour suitable for?
The tour is perfect for kids aged 8 and up. It’s creative, curious, and interactive – designed especially for this age group. but teens who love art and fantasy will enjoy the magical adventure just as much!
  • How many children can join each tour?
Each group is limited to 6 kids max, so everyone gets personal attention and space to draw, imagine, and explore.
